About Us

Brainywave Lab offers tuition and enrichment programs, with emphasis on fluency and literacy, from Nursery and Kindergarten through Primary and Secondary/High School, specializing in the Singapore Ministry of Education (MOE) and the American Common Core Standards in English Language Arts/Literacy (ELA) using our own carefully curated and developed material.

We also offer national exam preparations for the Singapore Primary School Leaving Examination (PSLE), the Singapore-Cambridge GCE O-Level examination, the Admissions Exercises for International Students (AEIS), the International Test of English Proficiency (iTEP), and the International English Language Testing System (IELTS)

Our group classes are small, up to 6 students. We also offer 1-on-1 tuition that is catered to each student’s learning ability and pace.

Direct School Admissions (DSA)

Brainywave Lab offers coaching in preparation for the Direct School Admissions (DSA) interview for Primary and Secondary levels and is very proud of our students who have successfully gained admission. They have received offers through the DSA exercise to Nan Hua High School, Methodist Girls’ School, National Junior College, and Eunoia Junior College.

Jennifer

Jennifer graduated from the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts and the KLC International Institute of Early Childhood Care & Education. A dedicated founder of Brainywave Lab, she has more than 18 years of experience teaching Chinese (Mandarin) Language and Speech & Drama to MOE Primary and Secondary students as well as international school students. She is an expert in child psychology and early childhood education. Jennifer has developed creative and innovative Chinese learning programmes for students of diverse abilities. In addition to her extensive teaching experience, she has successfully established kindergartens and tuition centers.

Michele

Michele is a Harvard University and University of Massachusetts educated teacher with more than 15 years of experience. Her greatest pride is her well-rounded teenager who not only excels academically (especially in English Language by attaining First in Level at Secondary 3), but also in competitive sports (attaining her school’s highest sporting honour) and music (international competition award-winning violinist).

Jonathan
Bio-sketch

Jonathan is from California. He has more than ten years of experience
teaching students of MOE Primary and Secondary schools as well as
international schools. He received his 3.5-year Master of Architecture
(M.Arch.I) from Harvard University, USA. He has worked at Frank Gehry,
Richard Meier, and Skidmore, Owings & Merrill — three Pritzker Prize
Award winning Architecture firms. He received a Bachelor of Arts in
Philosophy from the University of Washington, USA. While pursuing his
4-year B.A, he was a writing tutor at a local college. He was later
accepted into the Technical Communication program at the University of
Washington’s College of Engineering before turning his attention to
Architecture. He is an avid photographer, working with large and medium
format chemical photography. He met his wife at Harvard and has a
daughter who is a competitive softball pitcher and an award-winning
violinist.

Jeff

With five years of teaching experience, Jeff is dedicated to helping
students learn English. He is also a Doctor of Chiropractic from the USA
with practise both abroad and in Singapore. His passion is body
building, and he gives health talks across the USA, South America, Hong
Kong and Singapore.

Jenny

Jenny has five years of teaching experience along with two years of
early childhood education experience in the USA. She enjoys traveling,
weightlifting and public speaking. She is a ‘health nut’ with
credentials to prove it: she has competed in several fitness and
bodybuilding competitions, earning multiple top placements, including
1st place in the sports and super model categories.
